Welcome to the first annual Tauranga Dutch Market, a vibrant celebration of Dutch culture and community, happening at the Te Puna War Memorial Hall on 23 November 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. We invite everyone to join us and experience the warmth of Dutch gezelligheid – a sense of cozy togetherness and fun.
From 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, we have a special Kinder Vrijmarkt where children under 12 can sell their toys and crafts for free. It’s the perfect opportunity for young entrepreneurs to shine! Just bring a blanket and email us to register your spot. (Please note, food cannot be sold in the vrijmarkt area.)
At 11:30 AM, Sinterklaas will be making a magical appearance for the children. This is an exciting moment for all kids under 12, so don’t miss it!
For the grown-ups and their families, we have a delightful range of Dutch treats, including fresh coffee and tea, broodje kroket, poffertjes, herring, Dutch cheeses, and a selection of traditional groceries. There will also be stalls showcasing crafts, perfect for discovering something unique.
We’re always on the lookout for volunteers to help make this event even more special. If you’d like to get involved—whether it’s running a stall, assisting with the vrijmarkt, or lending a hand in any other way—please reach out.
To register for the vrijmarkt, volunteer, or for any other enquiries, simply email us. Let’s make this first Tauranga Dutch Market a day to remember!
